Graffiti on trains incurs significant cleaning and maintenance costs for commuter and long-distance rail operators. Come to the Atrium (or, in case of bad weather, to Booth 2648 in Hall 2, where graffiti markers will be available) to see live how a graffiti artist creates a design on a train panel coated with KABE Farben’s anti-graffiti powder coating. In the afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., the graffiti will be removed—quickly, effectively, and without damaging the powder coating.

Description

Graffiti on trains is far more than just an aesthetic issue: for operators of commuter and long-distance trains, it entails significant cleaning efforts and substantial costs. To enable the safe removal of graffiti without damaging the train’s surface, KABE Farben has developed a powder-coated anti-graffiti system that is resistant to graffiti removers

Until now, trains have primarily been coated with liquid paint, as large-scale puttying work is required. However, the temperature-stable putty systems available to date have failed to adequately meet the high demands of the rail vehicle industry. KABE Farben has developed a putty that meets precisely these requirements.

Through the combination of KTL, filler, and powder coating, it is now possible for the first time to coat entire railcars with powder coating. This offers clear advantages: shorter production times, a solvent-free coating process, and a significantly better carbon footprint. The result is a high-performance, sustainable coating system that also meets the high requirements for a graffiti-resistant surface.

In the afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., the graffiti is removed again—quickly, effectively, and without damaging the powder coating.
