AI-based Paint Inspection & Automated Repair Workflow

By EINES Vision Systems

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wed, 15 Apr

Short description

This live technical session presents an educational demonstration of how AI-driven inspection tunnels and automated repair concepts are transforming automotive paint quality control.
Using a tunnel mock-up equipped with LED arch illumination and an industrial camera, we will explain the optical principles behind surface defect visibility and high-speed image acquisition (up to 40,000 images per vehicle).

Description

Using real production footage shown on a 2 x 3 m LED wall, visitors gain the following insights:
- How structured lighting is reflected on painted surfaces.
- High-speed image capture, comparable to processing several feature films per vehicle.
- Internally trained neural networks for defect detection and classification.
- Millimeter-precise defect positioning for manual or robot-assisted repair measures. Data integration for reactive, predictive, and preventive quality analyses.

The event also showcases real operator interfaces via tablets and demonstrates how fault information is transmitted in real time to manual repair stations and robotic cells. It illustrates the entire closed workflow from inspection to repair, focusing more on technical methodology and industrial application than on a static product presentation.

This technology was developed specifically for automotive manufacturing, which is why we are looking forward to an expert and targeted audience interested in advanced paint inspection and automation solutions.
