PaintExpo: The world’s leading event for industrial coating technology is indispensable
The world’s leading trade fair is sending a strong signal with its global reach and innovative strength in a challenging market environment
Concrete projects, lively discussions, palpable energy – PaintExpo 2026 showcased its most dynamic side. In the exhibition halls, there were intense discussions, new contacts were made and business deals were initiated, fuelled by high visitor numbers and an international trade audience. The atmosphere: electrifying. And perhaps most surprising of all: amidst a challenging economic climate, a clear sense of optimism prevailed, coupled with a firm determination to actively tackle the next steps.
With 10,200 visitors from 68 countries and 425 exhibitors from 30 countries, it is clear that even in its tenth edition, the event enjoys very high popularity and attracts visitors from all over the world. It is the must-attend event for first-time visitors and existing customers. Almost 45 per cent of guests do not attend any other trade fair. “I am very pleased with the high level of public interest at PaintExpo 2026. As in previous years, our stand has been consistently well-attended, and we are holding many targeted, high-level discussions. I am particularly impressed by the high proportion of international visitors,” explains Michael Müller, CEO of the WAGNER Group.
PaintExpo has once again strengthened its international standing: the proportion of foreign exhibitors rose from 48 to 52 per cent, which also had an impact on the visitor profile. Almost 40 per cent of visitors travelled from abroad, making the trade fair a global meeting place for the industry.
Trade Fair visitors from 68 countries are using the platform to gather information from companies across 30 different countries, establish international business contacts and tap into new markets. This strong international presence promotes the cross-border exchange of expertise and innovation.
Focus on nurturing young talent: On the final day of the exhibition, PaintExpo 2026 also placed a strong emphasis on promoting young talent with its Career Day. Students and graduates gained specific insights into industrial coating technology and were able to make direct contact with companies. A compact programme of presentations, exhibition tours and networking offered practical guidance on entry-level opportunities and career paths. In doing so, PaintExpo is strengthening its role as a platform for connecting skilled workers and industry.
Attention is already turning to the next event: the upcoming PaintExpo will take place from 25 to 28 April 2028 and is already generating interest. Numerous exhibitors are already taking advantage of the rebooking option during the current fair to secure their preferred stand location at an early stage.
