PFAS: A challenge for people and the environment

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS for short, have been used in numerous industrial applications for decades due to their special properties. They have also long been considered indispensable in the manufacture of finely structured powder coatings. However, the widespread use of these substances has led to considerable environmental pollution. PFAS are now detectable in the blood of virtually all humans—a situation that is cause for concern from a health perspective and is increasingly coming under regulatory scrutiny.

Intensive research leads to breakthrough

The result: all of the company's finely structured powder coatings are now also available as PFAS-free variants. The PFAS-free formulations are suitable for interior products, highly weather-resistant facade products (Qualicoat certified), and MDF. The decision is up to the customer. Both the tried-and-tested and the new PFAS-free variants are available. It should be emphasized that the PFAS-free products have no restrictions whatsoever. The baking window, shelf life, and complete color selection meet the usual standards. Users can therefore flexibly choose which variant is right for their requirements.
