Coating solutions in all dimensions

No challenge is too big or too small for Venjakob, the system provider for automatic surface coating equipment. The same applies to the workpieces to be coated. At this year's PaintExpo, the machine manufacturer is presenting itself to a new customer base. “We want to increasingly target industries in the fields of renewable energy, mobility, glass, and metal,” says Gert große Deters, Business Unit Manager for General Industry and Automotive. Using current flagship projects, Venjakob demonstrates the different dimensions of workpieces that can be coated automatically. And with what solution expertise each customer is served individually along the entire process chain.

New development: Mobile coating system “Ven Spray Monopile by Rodopi”

One outstanding example is a new development from Venjakob for coating heavy-duty components such as monopiles. These are columns weighing up to 2,000 tons with a diameter of up to twelve meters, on which offshore wind turbines are mounted in the sea. An automatic mobile coating system was developed for this purpose and brought to series production and marketed in collaboration with the customer Rodopi. “This mobile system, which can be transported by forklift truck, demonstrates what we are capable of in customer-oriented development with our cross-industry experience and expertise. This system can also be used for the automatic coating of heavy-duty projects of all kinds,” says Große Deters.

Robotics for delicate and complex shapes

A completely different challenge in coating is delicate and visually sensitive glass packaging, such as that used in cosmetics—for lipstick tubes, perfume bottles, and more. In a current project involving the automatic coating of hollow glass in large quantities, Venjakob is using robotics for precise handling. Depending on customer requirements, Venjakob integrates its solutions into robotics for different tasks: material handling, drying, and coating.
