Interview with Tiemo Sehon
Tiemo Sehon - CEO - SEHON Innovative Lackieranlagen GmbH in interview.
In your opinion, what are currently the biggest challenges for painting companies and job-shop coaters?
The biggest challenges are to reduce energy consumption in operation and in the painting companies and job-shop coaters. Energetic modernization is a must for older existing plants. Because in a painting company, the plants are the largest energy consumers. The energy costs will continue to have a significant impact on the profitability of the paint companies in the future. - In addition to energy criteria, the focus of work processes is on new buildings and new plants. The reason is: perfect processes guarantee economic success.
From your standpoint, what are the best ways to optimize coating processes?
Measures for process optimization depend essentially on how the company is set up today, which products are painted, and which technology and systems are used for this purpose. It is also important to consider whether they are automatic, semi-automatic and manual painting processes. Therefore, there is no ideal solution to optimize painting processes. The decisive factor is the actual situation of the company, from which ultimately possible optimization measures can be derived.
What trends are emerging in your area of industrial painting technology?
The trend towards energy and process optimization remains unabated due to the high savings potential. In addition, new paint systems such as quick-drying paints will play an important role, which will have an impact on drying processes. Furthermore, the application technology will continue to improve, reducing throughput times, reducing paint consumption and greatly reducing finishing work.
What developments/solutions does your company offer for these trends?
Our spray booths are generally among the world leaders in energy saving. For existing plants, we offer brand-independent energy-saving technologies and concepts. These are financially supported and therefore gladly used. As a result, we have become specialists in holistic energy optimization (plants + operations). In process optimization, too, we rely on the development of customized solutions. In application technology, we offer various installations and devices that on the one hand significantly reduce costs and on the other hand improve quality.
What significance does PaintExpo have for your company?
As an internationally operating manufacturer, PaintExpo is very important for our Industry + Trade division. Primary for contact with potential prospects and existing customers. But also as industry overview and contact exchange to suppliers and network partners.
