Interview with Serge Heinen
Serge Heinen, Project Director Commercial Vehicles Sales Intralogistics and Surface Treatment, CTI Systems S.à r.l. in Interview.
In your opinion, what are currently the biggest challenges for painting companies and job-shop coaters?
In our opinion, the greatest challenge is the lack of skilled personnel in the field of coating technology. Furthermore, it’s difficult to work profitably due to the complex tasks we’re frequently faced with.
Great demands are placed on flexibility where coatings are involved. As a rule, converting a coating system to changing general conditions is very costly. What we need is a single system that can do everything.
From your standpoint, what are the best ways to optimize coating processes?
Coating processes should be automated in order to make work easier for the employees, and to keep production output at continuously high rates. Automated and integrated process sequences assure efficiency and high levels of productivity.
What trends are emerging in your area of industrial painting technology?
More and more attention is being focused on automated technologies – even for the production of niche products which are unable to make use of generally available, standard equipment technology. The utilised systems have to be capable of doing anything required.
What developments/solutions does your company offer for these trends?
Automation for heavy loads is in our DNA – for numerous steps within the manufacturing process. We offer automated solutions for coating systems which assure efficient operation and intelligent integration into the various manufacturing steps.
