Interview with Jörg Wöll
Jörg Wöll - Head of sales - Infrared process technology at Heraeus Noblelight GmbH in interview.
In your opinion, what are currently the biggest challenges for painting companies and job-shop coaters?
We observe that especially small and medium-sized companies are increasingly complaining about a lack of junior staff. A very high degree of flexibility of the contract coaters is required, with regard to customer requirements, quality and speed, but also to the quality of the employees. Industry 4.0 is in full swing, nobody can escape here.
From your standpoint, what are the best ways to optimize coating processes?
Optimal coordination between paint, application and drying technology is essential.
What trends are emerging in your area of industrial painting technology?
We still see the trend away from solvent-based paints to water-based paints and powder coatings.
What developments/solutions does your company offer for these trends?
We offer optimized drying solutions with infrared heat for water and powder coatings. In addition, varnish and drying solution can be coordinated in our application center.
Some coatings and processes benefit from electric infrared, others from gas catalytic ovens, and some from hybrid solutions with hot air.
We can deliver all that and have to offer case stories from satisfied customers.
What significance does PaintExpo have for your company?
For years, PaintExpo has been the most important fair in the field of coatings for us. We always have very intensive discussions at our booth. Here we meet our customers, both our partners and the competitors are exhibiting here.
